The Lord Directs My Path

Mother’s Day. My plans were to take it easy and be lazy. God had a different plan.
At the end of the day, I had to laugh when I looked at my total steps for the day. I’m lucky to get 6,000 a day, so you can imagine my reaction when I saw this total! Let me add, we walked 4 miles on a trail on Sunday. It wasn’t a planned thing. However, because the rain had finally stopped and the weather was absolutely beautiful out — we didn’t want to miss out — so our middle son, my husband and myself hit a local trail.
After we walked for about 2 miles, I finally asked how far we were going to go. (Why didn’t I think of that sooner?!) We had made it to a grocery store that had two important things I was very interested in before turning around. 1. A bathroom — and 2. Starbucks. Such perfect timing.
The total step reveal made me feel great that we had walked that far, but it also reminded me that what we visualize for a particular day or our future doesn’t always play out the way we think it’s going to go — and that’s ok. What matters is that we are in God’s Will.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
