How to win the battle
War.
Most people would probably say it only takes place in a distant land. Although we have heard stories from soldiers who served our country and put their life on the line, we still can’t relate or even imagine what they go through until we experience it.
Thank you, brave souls, for your willingness to serve and for protecting people you don’t even know.
Ironically, I do think we understand what it’s like to be attacked or taken down by the enemy, don”t we? Whether you know it or not, we are all in the middle of a spiritual battle. Every day. Maybe you felt it today but brushed it off as having one of those days.
Preparing for a spiritual battle is obviously different than preparing for a physical battle. One thing I see that’s similar, however, is that you need to know who the enemy is and you need to know how to fight. Look to His Word, friends. He has it all mapped out.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:10-17
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 21:1
“They will fight against you, but will not overcome you for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:19
