The Truth about Truth
There’s something powerful about the truth. I find it ironic that we all demand it – and yet we often turn our backs to it or find ourselves r u n n i n g from it.
No doubt about it – truth changes things.
It changed me.
So if truth is such a good thing, why do we treat it otherwise? Why do so many people hide it? Have we become so afraid that we’ll offend someone to the point where we remain silent? Is the fear of rejection so overwhelming that we allow it to control us?
What is it?
If you’re swimming upstream – trying to bring the truth to the surface in order to bring justice or to save lives, bring healing or stop pain – don’t give up. A moment of truth is never wasted.
This author said it best:
” Sometimes truth is like a flash of lightning on a dark night. For just a second, a split-second really, everything becomes visible. And then, just as quickly, the flash disappears and the darkness returns. Still, one doesn’t forget what one has seen when the lightning flashes.” – Kate McCord, In the Land of Blue Burqas
John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
