Be the Example

“ Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.”
Philippians 2:14-16

There always seems to be a debate about what’s being taught in school. The most recent discussions I’ve heard were whether or not students need to learn how to write in cursive. Some believe that it’s an important skill, while others argue that skill isn’t necessary anymore with today’s technology. I’m not sure what the answer is; however, if I could add my two cents – I would recommend a mandatory subject/ class (kindergarten on up) that would teach kids how to appreciate what they have – even when they can’t have what they want.

Please know that I KNOW there are great teachers out there who make a big impact on kids – teaching them way more than math and so on, but I’m thinking if these kids would receive a grade on a subject that would benefit them in the present and in the long run – maybe it would make life different for them. Better for everyone.

It seems to me that these are important life skills that a lot of us have failed to learn (or don’t remember). There’s nothing worse than being surrounded by people who constantly complain – as in a workplace, a classroom, a family, a church, or on social media. Sadly, it’s as contagious as the dreaded flu.

Here are good words to live by – no matter what life looks like for you today.
Give thanks in all circumstances: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Be the example.
