Best Friend

What catches your eye? A particular story or a pic? Name it.
Anything that has to do with a dog seems to grab mine. Instantly. I’ve always loved dogs, and I’ve always had a hard time understanding how some people don’t.
When I saw these paw prints of a dog and footprints of a human, I looked around–trying to find a dog that would be the right size. I pictured him or her walking next to the owner’s side….anxiously waiting to fetch something that was thrown into the sea.
There were many at the beach that day, so finding the ONE was pretty impossible. But in the meantime, I loved watching all of these people spending time with their best friends! It was like something you would see in a movie. It. was. fun.
What does a dog mean to you? You must love them as much as I do, or you wouldn’t be wasting your time reading this. And why on earth is it important for you to have one in your life? For me, it’s all about the unconditional love. Although some can create a lot of extra work and frustration, the blessings are too many to name. There’s just something about having something there that will make you laugh when you’re mad, smile when you need it, make you feel loved when you’re lonely, and greet you at the door–letting you know that you were missed.
Then there’s that flip side. You get to love something without worrying about rejection. There’s no mind games; the only game you need to worry about is fetch or tug-of-war. You are your dogs world…other than an occasional rabbit, cat, or stuffed toy.
There’s nothing better than having a dog.
Nothing.
