Take One Step at a Time
Recently went to a viewing for an acquaintance we had known for many years. As I shook hands and hugged family members, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that his elderly parents were sitting in the first pew – looking at us as we headed their way. It was only for a moment, but it seemed like eternity as I struggled for the words to say.
Before I could mutter a sound, the grieving mother asked me how MY boys were and mentioned that she supposed they were all grown up now. I was stunned. We exchanged a few words, then I saw tears well up in both of their eyes, so I did what came naturally – I offered a hug.
No words were necessary….you could see the pain in their eyes.
If you are a woman who has given birth at least once, then you KNOW the indescribable love you experience in your heart for your child. It seriously radiates throughout your whole body, mind and soul as you adore your newborn baby. As soon as you finally see and touch your precious child, most of that pain that you suffered prior to and through the delivery is forgotten as your focus suddenly changes to the miracle before you. It’s amazing! I could never imagine forgetting such pain, but I did.
If you’ve adopted an infant or child, then you KNOW the joy you feel in your heart and the change in your spirit as soon as you realize that the waiting is finally over – your prayers have finally been answered.
And then there are those who have had to say goodbye, way too soon. I can’t imagine the heartache, but I do know there is one who understands…..all too well, because his one and only son died on a cross – for you and I. Amazing to think that something absolutely wonderful came from all of his pain and suffering – forgiveness and eternal life.
Just think, if you are a believer, one day you will step into eternity with our Savior, and all of your heartache, all of your worries, and ALL of those unbelievable painful experiences will be gone – forever. Praise God…. Praise God.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ~ Revelation 21:4
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” ~Romans 8:18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
KEEP YOUR FAITH. THE WAITING IS WORTH IT.
